PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for displaying a 3D image in an image display device are provided to generate and output a 3D image through color compensation for a 2D image. CONSTITUTION: A sync signal separating unit(120) separates a sync signal of each frame from an image signal unit(100). An analog/digital converting unit(110) converts a sync signal-separated analog video signal into a digital video signal. A control unit(130) predicts the motion of an image, and a 3D image generator(150) generates a 3D image by displaying a perspective image for each frame. An image display unit(170) outputs the 3D image.
