PURPOSE: A display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to obtain a sufficient spacing material and a processing margin of a light shielding member even though the height of a partition wall gets higher. CONSTITUTION: A gate line is located on the first insulating substrate. A data line crosses the gate line. A liquid crystal display comprises a lower display panel(100) and an upper display panel(200) which face each other. A light shielding member(220) and a spacing material(320) are formed on a pixel electrode(191).
