The invention relates to a device for the dispensing and recovery of gas, comprising a gas bottle (3) containing a gas or a gaseous mixture containing at least one anesthetic compound and an adsorption container (1) containing at least an adsorbent material for adsorbing at least part of said anesthetic compound. The adsorption container (1) is conformed to form a sleeve around the body of the bottle (3). The bottle (3) and the adsorption container (1) are preferably arranged on a mobile cart (2) fitted with one or more wheels.
