The apparatus has a radiation source (3), an emission receiving element (4) and an optical imaging element (5). The radiation source and the emission receiving element are arranged on the sensor side of the optical imaging element. The radiation source, the imaging element and the emission receiving element are aligned to each other such that the medium (2) provided on a medium side of the imaging element is impinged with radiation (6) of the radiation source. A compensation with respect to the temperature of the medium and the temperature of one of the receiving elements is effected.
