<p>The hinged front cover of a motor vehicle bodywork, e.g. over the motor compartment, has an outer shell (1) and a reinforced inner shell (2) at least partially bonded together. For safety, on impact collision with a pedestrian, there is a head striking zone which can be distorted. The hinge reinforcements (11), on both sides of the cover, have metal straps (12) to the head striking zone, bonded (13) to the outer shell, allowing a plastic distortion on striking a pedestrian.</p> |
