The method involves analyzing (21) a given command sequence of a signal train that is generated by the tester, and checking (22) command sequence by comparing it with a standard-compliant signal train. The discrepancies between the standard-compliant signal train and the signal train are detected (24) and the necessary changes to the command sequence to generate a standard-compliant signal train are ascertained. The detected necessary changes, commands or command sequence sections are supplemented or replaced (25) to generate a command sequence.
