The invention provides a compound which is useful as a dispersant. In one embodiment, the invention provides a composition comprising a particulate solid, a plastic material and said compound as a dispersant. In a further embodiment, the invention provides a composition suitable for dispersing a particulate solid in a thermoplastic medium. The composition may be suitable for the manufacture of films, fibers and solid articles.
