<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prosthetic hip joint which has durability equal to that of a conventional one, where a cut-off amount of the innominate bone which is cut off in the case of installing a cup of the prosthetic hip joint to the acetabulum is saved, and by which an amount of bone transplantation can be reduced or eliminated. <P>SOLUTION: The prosthetic hip joint consists of: a stem for the prosthetic hip joint having a stem main body and the condyle; and the cup for the prosthetic hip joint having a hemispherical inner surface part for accepting the condyle. At the cup, a thick part which receives an area to which stem loading of the hemispherical inner surface part is concentrated and a thin part which is in another area and which makes at least one of inner, front and rear outer shells are formed. It is desirable that the center of the sphere of the hemispherical inner surface part and the sphere of the outer surface part of the thick part are arranged so as to coincide or coincide substantially with each other. It is desirable that the thick part is formed in the range of 90°to 180°at a horizontal angle along the edge of the cup with the rotation center of the condyle as reference and in the range of 45°to 90°at a vertical angle facing the top part of the cup with the edge of the cup as reference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
