FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to a thermochromic material for dental models able to discolour reversibly depending on temperature whereat specified material is kept, to a method for making and applying thereof. The specified material contains a two-component silicone composition consisting of a silicon composition A - a catalyst, and a silicon composition B - a base combined with an effective amount of at least one thermochromic pigment discolouring in the temperature range 0C to 40C. The thermochromic pigment can be chosen from indirectly thermochromic composite materials, liquid crystal cholesterol derivatives, polythiophenes. Two or more thermochromic pigments discolouring at various temperatures can be used. The material is made by homogeneous dispersion of the thermochromic pigment or a mixture of such pigments in at least one of compositions (A) and (B). An impression technique involves making the specified material, placing of the prepared mixture in a patient's mouth and waiting for required discoloration of said mixture. ^ EFFECT: use of the offered material allows obtaining real-time information concerning temperature of the material for dental modeling after being placed in a patient's mouth that is effective for estimating the optimum impression operation length, and for changing the lengths of various required manipulations in the mouth associated with impression. ^ 14 cl, 7 ex, 3 dwg |
