Injection moulding machine and method for operating the same

The injection molding machine comprises a machine bed (1) on which a stationary fixed platen (2) and a further movable fixed platen (3) are arranged, where the movable fixed platen is movable relative to the stationary fixed platen in a closing direction. Four struts (4, 4A) are secured on one of the fixed platens in four corners of the fixed platen and are lockable for applying a tool locking power relative to another fixed platens by locking means (5). Means for applying the tool locking power are arranged in the fixed platen. The struts are shifted relative to the fixed platens in closed locking means in the locking direction to a displacement path. One of the means for applying tool locking power is formed for covering a displacement path that is larger than the displacement path of the another means for applying the tool locking power. The larger displacement path of the means for applying the tool locking power is ten times larger than the displacement path of the another means for applying the tool locking power. A single beam stands in connection with the means for applying the tool locking power with enlarged displacement path. The injection molding machine is a strut arranged in top machine area that stands in connection with the means for applying the tool locking power with enlarged displacement path, where more than two struts stand in connection with the means for applying the tool locking power with enlarged displacement path. The means for applying the tool locking power are formed as hydraulic pressurized container and/or hydraulic piston-cylinder-unit. The locking means are equipped with coupling means that enable a synchronic activity of the locking means. An independent claim is included for a method for operating an injection molding machine.
