<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuating device for a vehicular opening/closing body, which has an advantage of enabling a user to execute an opening/closing operation even when the user's hands are unavailable, for example, due to packages to carry, and also prevents an opening/closing operation that is not wanted by the user by detecting the user's intention to open/close the door without fail. <P>SOLUTION: The actuating device for the vehicular opening/closing body comprises a portable radio terminal, an in-vehicle radio terminal, and an action detecting means for detecting the user's intentional action of opening/closing the opening/closing body. The actuating device opens/closes the opening/closing body on the basis of a result of ID check between the portable radio terminal and the in-vehicle radio terminal and of a result of the confirmation of the user's intention to open/close the opening/closing body.
