FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves determination of chemical composition of alloys and assessment of the effect of the alloy components on suitability to processing by micro-arc oxidation (MAO), wherein quantitative chemical composition of the alloys is determined first and MAO suitability factor is then calculated using the formula: k=1-(0.07CCu+0.02CMg+0.06CMn+0.06CFe+0.04CSi+0.06CZn+0.04Cimp), where k is a dimensionless MAO suitability factor of the alloy, whose suitability falls with fall in the value of the factor, CCu, CMg, CMn, CFe, CSi, CZn, Cimp denotes percentage content of metals and impurities in the alloy. Further, the thickness of the coating obtained through MAO on one selected alloy is experimentally determined and the expected values of thickness which can be obtained on the rest of the alloys are calculated using the formula: , where hj is the expected thickness value on the standard alloy, mcm, he is the experimentally determined value of thickness on the selected alloy, mcm, k; and ke is the value of the MAO suitability factor for the standard and selected alloy. ^ EFFECT: wider range of assessed aluminium alloys with higher accuracy of assessment, possibility of estimating thickness of coating. ^ 1 tbl, 1 ex |
