PURPOSE: A camera type touch-screen utilizing light guide media of a camera unit and a method for operating the same are provided to install a camera unit light guide unit which emits light receiving the infrared ray from a light source in order to form an infrared background unit at a portion in which cameras are installed. CONSTITUTION: A linear light guide unit(200) is installed at each edge of a touch screen and emits the infrared light incident from a light source(300). The light source is installed at the edge of the touch screen. A camera(400) receives the infrared ray emitted from the linear light guide unit, recognizes multi-touch points, and is installed in at least three edges of the touch screen. A camera light unit(500) is installed at the front surface of the camera and emits the some of the infrared rays of the light source to other cameras.
