<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical suture needle with high piercing ability, wherein its edge cannot only be protected from damages when it is held by needle forceps but it can be formed very sharp while maintaining high bending strength. <P>SOLUTION: An edge forming part 6 is provided on the surgical suture needle comprising a needle body part 2 or the inner or outer circumferential surface of a surgical suture needle in the shape of a triangle in section, curved and extending in an arc, a needle base part with which a suture thread is connected, and a sharp needle point 5. The edge forming part 6 includes a first blade part 11 where only a pair of side blades 14 are formed along both sides of the inner circumferential surface, a second blade 12 where besides a pair of the side blades 14, a chevron blade 15 is formed at the top edge opposite to these side blades 14 on the inner circumferential surface, and a third blade part 13 where these side blade 14 and the chevron blade 15 near to each other toward the needle point 5, while maintaining their own respective blade angles. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
