METHOD FOR MEASUREMENT OF VALUE OF WEAR OF A STEEL PART

Method for measurement of value of wear of steel part relates to tribology. According to the method in the opening of the part on the surface that is worn one fixes insert-witness made of material of part as solid of revolution with outer threading applied at its whole height and with generatrix normal to axis of rotation. The part undergoes wear, and value of wear is evaluated by change of angular position of generatrix. In the opening of the part to which one installs insert-witness one provides outer threading that corresponds to outer threading of insert-witness. The insert-witness undergoes sulphidation, after that it is fixed in the part by means of turning in by the threading in such way that open end of the insert-witness is in level with friction surface. And value of wear of the part one determines by change of angular position of generatrix through taking imprints from wear surface by Bauman method. The method provides increase of accuracy and reliability of determination of wear of parts.
