515,116. Cables. SOLUTION TRUST, Ltd. May 24, 1938, Nos. 15484 and 15485. Convention dates, May 24, 1937, and April 28, 1938. [Class 36] Loaded conductors for communication cables are manufactured by disposing preformed compressed blocks of ferro-magnetic particles insulated from each other over a conducting core so as to lie between said core and an outer metal sheath, and mechanically reducing the work-piece so produced to the required dimensions, preferably by successive drawing operations with intermediate annealing. Prior to such reduction, rings or tubes of compressed pulverulent insulating material, e.g., magnesia, may be arranged to form an insulating layer between the sheath and blocks of ferromagnetic particles. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the use of more than one conducting core in a single sheath. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
