The invention relates to a right/right rib fabric comprising rows of stitches (22 to 24) which alternately consist of right and left stitches produced with a ground thread (6), said stitches forming right and left wales (14, 16, 18, 20 or 15, 17, 19, 21) on both fabric sides. According to the invention, an additional plating thread (7) is placed at least into selected rows of stitches (22 to 24), which is treated in selected right wales (14, 18) of one of both fabric sides, together with the respective base thread (6), in order to form stitches (25) and to be integrated in a floating manner therebetween. The invention further relates to a method and a knitting machine for producing a rib fabric of this type. |
