PLASMA LNT SYSTEM FOR EXHAUST GAS AFTERTREATMENT

PURPOSE: A plasma LNT system is provided to effectively eliminate the nitrogen oxide and the sulfur from the occlusion catalyst in a LNT since the reductant gas, which is reformed and generated from the fuel by a plasma reformer, is supplied to the occlusion catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A plasma LNT system comprises an exhaust pipe(10), a LNT(Lean NOx Trap)(20) and a plasma reformer(30). The exhaust pipe discharges the exhaust gas from the engine. The LNT contains the occlusion catalyst(21) occluding the nitrogen oxide(NOx) contained in the exhaust gas and is installed in the exhaust pipe. The plasma reformer is built in the exhaust pipe. In the rich fuel condition instantaneously made according to the operating condition change of the engine, the plasma reformer sucks the fuel and the reaction gas, reforms them using a plasma reaction and generates the reductant gas. The plasma reformer supplies the reductant gas to the occlusion catalyst and reduces the occluded nitrogen oxide.
