An alloy for use as a heat-vehicle in a nuclear reactor comprises 43 per cent lead and 57 per cent bismuth. It is stated to have fusion and boiling temperatures of 115 DEG C. and 1500 DEG C, and that it does not corrode iron and steel, even at very high temperatures.
