PURPOSE: A length-measuring device using an acceleration sensor and a method thereof is provided to have a length measurement function through a portable terminal with an acceleration sensor. CONSTITUTION: A length-measuring device using an acceleration sensor comprises an acceleration sensor(108), a manipulation unit(106), and a controller(110). The acceleration sensor detects the change of speed per unit time. The manipulation unit receives a length measuring initial point and a length measuring end point. The controller produces the length from the length measuring initial point to the length measuring end point based on movement time.
