PURPOSE: A reinforcing bar connector employing an elliptical rotating wedge is provided to secure the stability of joints of reinforcing bars and to minimize the overlap length of connected reinforcing bars. CONSTITUTION: A reinforcing bar connector comprises a sleeve(1) and a wedge(4). The sleeve includes a reinforcing bar insertion part(11) which is formed of a pipe having an elliptical cross section in which two circular through holes are parallely formed in the longitudinal direction, a bent receiving part(12) which is formed transversely through the central part of a large-diameter section, and a wedge fitting part(13) which is formed of a bar having an elliptical cross section in which a spline(21) with sharp vertex is formed in the longitudinal direction. The wedge has a tapered tip(23) and is fitted to the wedge fitting part.
