PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat-shaped silver oxide battery having high capacity and excellent load characteristics. SOLUTION: The flat-shaped sliver oxide battery is formed by housing a positive electrode 3 composed of a molded body of a positive electrode mixture containing at least a silver oxide and a conductive assistant, a negative electrode 4 containing zinc particles or zinc alloy particles, a separator 5 and an electrolytic solution in a battery container composed of an exterior can 1, a sealing plate 2 and a resin-made gasket 6. The content of the conductive assistant in the positive electrode mixture is 3-7 mass%, and the density of the molded body of the positive electrode mixture is 5.0-7.0 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. In the flat-shaped silver oxide battery, the molded body of the positive electrode mixture is preferably formed by molding once the positive electrode mixture obtained by dry mixing at least the silver oxide and the conductive assistant, and re-molding the positive electrode mixture obtained after the molded body is crushed and treated.
