<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bill discrimination device allowing during operation an easy process for adjusting the amount of light. <P>SOLUTION: The bill discrimination device includes a light emitting element which applies light to a bill inserted; a light receiving element which receives the light transmitted through or reflected by the bill inserted; and a control unit which, after either the amount of light applied from the light emitting element or the amount of light received by the light receiving element is set to a predetermined amount, adjusts the amount of the other light to be within a predetermined range at a predetermined timing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
