A method of emergency evacuation of people/cargo by a helicopter, at which previously renovation of the helicopter evacuation system is carried out by installing additional equipment – a system for extension of a device for placement of people/cargo, suspension links and fastening a rope in the links of suspension. Before release of the rope opening of the helicopter hatch is performed and mounting to said device of fastening the device for placement of people/cargo with an actuating system of said device for placement of people/cargo. Then the rope is released by means of the system for providing extension of the device for placing people/cargo. Then the system of actuation of the device of placement of people/cargo is set in working state. After fixing the helicopter hovering mode over the landing area the hovering height is gradually lowered up to touching the surface of the landing area by the device for placement of people/cargo.
