PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neat appearance with no steps or grooves exposed to an outer surface even in a closed state of a suction port, and to provide easy cleaning. SOLUTION: The indoor unit for an air conditioner is equipped with an indoor unit body 10, and a front cover 20 covering the indoor unit body 10. The front cover 20 is equipped with an upper lid part 21 detachable with respect to the indoor body 20 and covering the suction port 11a of a top face of the indoor unit body 10, a front face part 22 continuous with the upper lid part 21, and a lower face part 23 continuous with the front face part 22 and covering an outlet 11b from an outer side. In the upper lid part 21, the suction port 11a is opened and closed by an upper part lever 13 provided on the indoor unit body 10, and in the lower face part 23, the outlet 11b is opened and closed by a lower part lever 14 provided on a body case 11.
