<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarization element having a coating type polarizing layer having a high contrast ratio, to provide a method for manufacturing the polarization element, and to make a liquid crystal display using the coating type polarizing layer high in contrast. <P>SOLUTION: The polarization element includes a substrate and a multilayer polarizing layer formed of a plurality of polarizing layers stacked on an upper side of the substrate so that their transmission axes are aligned. At least one of the plurality of polarizing layers is a first polarizing layer whereon dye molecules are coated and are aligned in a predetermined direction by a shear stress, and the first polarizing layer is formed in a predetermined thickness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
