<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator reduced in size and weight. <P>SOLUTION: This cylinder type gas generator 1 includes a housing including a long bottomed cylindrical first housing member 10, an igniter 30, a partition plate 40, a dividing member 50, transfer charge 61, gas generating agent 62 and a filter 70. The dividing member 50 is constituted of a bottomed cylindrical member arranged in an operation gas generating chamber, and includes a cylindrical part 52, a bottom part 53, a first communication hole 54 and a hollow part 55. The gas generating agent 62 is stored in a portion except the hollow part 55 of the operation gas generating chamber. When an outer diameter of the first housing member 10 is R1, a diameter of the operation gas generating chamber is R2, a distance from an end part on a bottom part side of the first communication hole 54 provided to be closest to the bottom part 53 of the first communication hole 54 to the bottom part 54 is L1 and a distance from the bottom part 53 up to an end part on the igniter 30 side of the operation gas generating chamber is L2, a condition of 15 mm≤R1≤20 mm, L1≤5 mm and 0.026≤L2/R2≤0.71 is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
