<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize unplugging of a cable on an image forming device when unplugging of a power cable occurs in a post processing machine to which the image forming apparatus is connected. <P>SOLUTION: Attachments (post-processing machines 10, 20, 30, and 40) connected to a main apparatus (an image forming apparatus 1) to be used include control parts (control substrates 12, 22, 32, and 42) which communicate with the main apparatus, a main apparatus DC output line 5 supplied from the main apparatus, switching parts (switching devices 16, 26, 36, and 46) for supplying an external DC output obtained from the main apparatus DC output line as a power source for the control parts at least, and a detection part monitoring an AC input or an internal DC output to detect a break. The switching part is switched to supply the external DC output as the power source for the control parts based on the break of the AC input or the internal DC output.
