PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device that obtains suitable optical characteristics, and to provide a method for manufacturing the optical device. SOLUTION: The optical device 1 includes: a holding frame 50 having a first portion 51a and a second portion 51b and holding an optical system L2, the first portion 51a being disposed on an external circumferential surface 51 and the second portion 51b being disposed closer to an object than the first portion 51a of the external circumferential surface 51; a first member 30 having a third portion 61 and holding the holding frame 50, the third portion 61 being disposed on an internal circumferential face and in contact with the first portion 51a; and a second member 70 having a fourth portion 71 and holding the holding frame 50, the fourth portion being disposed on the internal circumferential surface and in contact with the second portion 51b. In a cross-section along the optical axis of the optical system L2, the curvature of the third portion 61 is greater than that of the first portion 51a, and the curvature of the fourth portion 71 is greater than that of the second portion 51b.
