Method for the preparation of dihydroquinazolines

Disclosed is a method for preparing a piperizinyl and phenyl substituted 3,4-dihydroquinazolinyl compound of formula (I). The variables are as disclosed in the description. The method includes the hydrolysis of the ester preceded by the addition of the piperizine substituent. Also disclosed are phenyl substituted 3,4-dihydroquinazolinyl ester compounds of formula (III) and (V). The substituents are as disclosed in the description.
