<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely avoid a regeneration failure while suppressing the exhaust amount of NOx when forcibly regenerating a particulate filter. <P>SOLUTION: A method for forcibly regenerating the particulate filter 13 is carried out by providing an oxidation catalyst 14 in a prior stage of the particulate filter 13 equipped at the intermediate part of an exhaust pipe 11, adding fuel into exhaust gas 9 upstream of the oxidation catalyst 14, burning collected particulates in the particulate filter 13 in a subsequent stage with reaction heat generated during the oxidation reaction of the added fuel on the oxidation catalyst 14 in the prior stage. Forced regeneration of the particulate filter 13 is carried out while recirculating part of the exhaust gas 9 from the exhaust side to the intake side, and the recirculation of exhaust gas 9 is stopped when at least one of the conditions is not fulfilled out of a first condition that the regenerated time does not exceed a predetermined time and a second condition that an ignition switch 22 is not turned off during the forced regeneration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
