PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign substance removing device which can surely remove foreign substances adherent to an open edge of a cap, and a liquid jetting apparatus. SOLUTION: The foreign substance removing device is set in a printer equipped with the cap 42 in which annular seal parts 44 can abut to surround openings of nozzles with respect to a recording head which jets inks from the openings of the nozzles formed at a nozzle formation surface. The foreign substance removing device removes the foreign substances from the seal parts 44 by wiping the seal parts 44. The removing device is equipped with a wiping member 73 which can wipe the seal parts 44 as a lower end surface 73a slide-contacting with the seal parts 44 maintains a slide-contacting state to the seal parts 44 in a process to be shifted in a direction along the seal parts 44.
