PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desired editing device for immediately updating and displaying thumbnails because changed video is not displayed during trimming an editing point in a playlist editing screen of an editing device, and the video of a trimmed editing point is not a video desired by a user, so that the user may have to sometimes perform trimming again and also because there is the problem of deteriorating work efficiency due to the slowness of displaying the thumbnails. SOLUTION: A display method of a video editing device is provided, wherein a plurality of pieces of video data around the editing point are read from a medium recording video data and stored in a memory while the processing of a microprocessor is free after designating the editing point. Thumbnails are created from the video data stored in the memory and stored in the memory, and the video stored in the memory is displayed during trimming the editing point.
