IP SET-TOP BOX FOR IPTV AND EPG DISPLAY METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: An IP STB(Set-Top Box) for IPTV(Internet Protocol TV) and an EPG display method using thereof are provided to use the physical proximity relation of a remote controller and a user thereby easily approaching to contents for the user. CONSTITUTION: A user information recognition part(110) receives the bio-information of a user acknowledged through a biometric authentication device of a remote controller. A user decision part(120) decides whether the storage of the bio-information of the user. An EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information processor(130) receives the default or personal EPG information as EPG information according to the decision result. A picture creation part(140) transmits the screen information corresponding to the EPG information to a display device.
