PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-soluble hyperbranched polymer derivative suitable as an effective component holder which holds an effective component stably and effectively even if the effective component is hydrophilic one or hydrophobic one and which has useful functions such as controlled releasability and solubility and to provide the effective component holder obtained by using the water-soluble hyperbranched polymer derivative.SOLUTION: The water-soluble hyperbranched polymer derivative is obtained by using branched polychloromethylstyrene (a hydrophobic hyperbranched polymer) of a specific structure as a core; modifying the terminal end of a core molecule by a hydrophobic monomer, which can be hydrophilized afterward, to form a hydrophobic shell; and hydrophilizing the hydrophobic shell by hydrolysis. The water-soluble hyperbranched polymer derivative is used as a main holding body of the effective component holder. The core and the shell are formed by living radical polymerization. |
