SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVING IMPURITIES FROM A FEED FLUID

The present invention relates to a method for regenerating a system for removing impurities from a feed fluid, the feed fluid comprising primarily a hydrocarbon and the method comprising:
contacting an oxidized copper-based material and an adsorbent in a single vessel with an inert gas heated to a first temperature above an ambient temperature for removing hydrocarbon adsorbed thereon;
adding a reducing agent to the heated inert gas for reducing the copper-based material;
increasing a concentration of reducing agent added in the heated inert gas contacting the copper-based material and the adsorbent;
heating the inert gas and the reducing agent to a second temperature higher than the first temperature; and
contacting the copper-based material and the adsorbent with the inert gas and the reducing agent at the second temperature.
