The invention relates to a part comprising a substrate formed from an electronically conducting material and, over at least a portion of the surface of the substrate, a coating comprising a ceramic coating layer. Characteristically, said coating layer is based on cerium oxides and said coating layer has an oxygen vacancy concentration of 1 × 1017/cm3 or higher.
