The invention relates to the use of a feed material containing plastic, which feed material is obtained by milling or mill drying waste containing plastic using an air vortex mill such as an ultra rotor, to fuel, for example, a rotary pipe cement kiln during the production of cement clinker or a power plant. Both the moisture level reached by the mill drying and the particle geometry achieved can be used to control the firing process.
