A permeate tube for spiral wound membrane which comprises at least one tubular unit (1) is disclosed. Spaced substantially along the unit's length are a plurality of permeate transfer means (2) enabling permeate transfer from an external surface region of the unit to an internal passageway of the unit. One or more grooves (3) in the external surface form flow channels connect the permeate transfer means. At least a part of the internal passageway of each tubular unit has a polygonal cross-section. |
