PURPOSE: A gas pipe blocking device is provided to automatically block gas when there is an excessive gas leak by using the gas pressure in a gas pipe. CONSTITUTION: A gas pipe blocking device comprises a body(10), a gas leak sensor, a gas cutoff unit, and a drive unit. The gas leak sensor is connected to the body and senses a gas leak. The gas leak cutoff unit is installed inside the body and is moved along the longitudinal direction of the body in order to block and release gas. A pair of first permanent magnets are installed in both ends of the gas cutoff unit. The drive unit is connected to the gas leak sensor and is installed to be contiguous to the gas cutoff unit in order to move the gas cutoff unit using magnetic force.
