<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods of recovering anhydrous hydrogen fluoride from a mixture comprising hydrogen fluoride and a halogenated hydrocarbon. <P>SOLUTION: A first method includes extracting hydrogen fluoride (HF) from the mixture comprising HF and at least a halogenated hydrocarbon by contacting the mixture with a solution of less than about 93 wt.% sulfuric acid in water. A second method includes: extracting HF from the mixture by contacting the mixture with the solution of at least about 98 wt.% sulfuric acid in water to obtain an acid/HF mixture; and performing a two-stage distillation of the acid/HF mixture. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
