TRACK PROVIDED WITH MAGNETIC LAYER AND MAGNETIC ELEMENT PROVIDED WITH THE TRACK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a track provided with a magnetic layer and a magnetic element including the track.

SOLUTION: A magnetic element includes a track having a plurality of magnetic domains and a domain wall between adjacent magnetic domains; a domain wall motion means connected to the track; and a read/write means for reproducing/recording information with respect to the track. The track includes a magnetic layer having the magnetic domains and the domain walls; a first non-magnetic layer formed on a first surface of the magnetic layer; and a second non-magnetic layer formed of a material different from that of the first non-magnetic layer on a second surface of the magnetic layer, and including at least a metal having an atomic number greater than or equal to 14 and magnesium. According to such a structure, the magnetic layer has high non-adiabatic coefficient (β). The magnetic element is, for example, used as an information storage element (memory).
