PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new joint cartilage damage therapeutic agent comprising a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) inhibitor as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: As a result of keen examination, it is found that joint cartilage damage is treated by inhibiting VEGF in a joint cartilage damage model. In particular, in a joint cartilage damage model using a Japanese white domestic rabbit, a tissue repair effect is examined by intravenous administration of bevacizumab (anti-VEGF antibody) being one example of VEGF inhibitor and a good cartilage repair process is ascertained in postoperative three months.
