PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an overload preventive device of a passenger conveyor capable of preventing an overload on the passenger conveyor without wastefully restricting the use of the passenger conveyor. SOLUTION: The overload preventive device of the passenger conveyor includes an alarm generation device provided on or in the vicinity of the passenger conveyor, a detection device which detects a current flowing in a motor for driving the passenger conveyor and detects a load on the motor based on the current flowing in the motor, and an alarm control device which calculates the estimated load of the motor in future based on the load on the motor detected by the detection device and the increasing rate of the load on the motor, and determines whether an alarm is generated by the alarm generation device based on the estimated load in future.
