<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a change in image density. <P>SOLUTION: When a new developing device 24 is attached, the image forming apparatus discriminates the kind of the attached developing device 24, and selects and sets setting information corresponding to the discriminated kind from an S/D ratio setting table. The image forming apparatus counts the number of printed sheets after the new developing device 24 is attached, and sets an S/D ratio corresponding to the number of printed sheets based on the set setting information. The S/D ratio is controlled to be the highest value immediately after starting the use of the developing device 24, and controlled to be a low value with an increase in the number of printed sheets. Also, the S/D ratio corresponding to the number of printed sheets is controlled so that a lowering amount of the S/D ratio lowered with the increase in the number of printed sheets may become small with the increase in the number of printed sheets. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
