<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single carrier transmission system, a communication device and a single carrier transmission method used for them in which a cross-correlation of pilot signals can be reduced and complexity of processing to be performed in at least one of a transmitter and a receiver can be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: A transmitter transmits a data signal and a pilot signal and sets a pilot block size of the pilot signal in accordance with a data block size of the data signal.
