PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool which sucks cutting chips and discharges them to the outside of the machine, or flows them down to under a table or the like through supply of a coolant, according to the shapes of the cutting chips. SOLUTION: The machine tool is equipped with: a cutting chip sucking unit 10 for sucking cutting chips generated when a workpiece 92 is machined, through a sucking passage 101, 751, ..., 91; a coolant supplying unit 20 for supplying a coolant to a machining point of the workpiece 92 through a supplying passage 201, 751, ..., 91; and a switching unit 11 for switchably operating the cutting chip sucking unit 10 and the coolant supplying unit 20.
