PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment and an application execution method which are capable of easily performing an application suitable for an external device that is a communication partner. SOLUTION: The electronic equipment manages an application used for communication between an external device and the electronic equipment and external device information containing a vendor identifier, a product identifier, and a communication protocol of the external device in correlation with each other. When the external device is authenticated by the electronic equipment, the electronic equipment acquires authentication device information containing the vendor identifier, the product identifier, and the communication protocol from the external device. The electronic equipment refers to the external device information and executes at least an application corresponding to the vendor identifier and the communication protocol contained in the acquired authentication device information.
