PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality pneumatic tire preventing damages to a rim flange. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire 16 includes a tread 18, a bead 22, a carcass 24, a support layer 26, a belt 28, a band 30, and a side part 36. The side part 36 has a side wall 56, a clinch part 58, and an insertion body 60. The insertion body 60 is surrounded by the carcass 24, the side wall 56, and the clinch part 58 and is not exposed on a surface of the side part 36. The minimum value of distance between the surface of the side part 36 and the insertion body 60 is 1.0 mm or more. The insertion body 60 is made of soft rubber. The JIS-A hardness of the insertion body 60 is 70 or less. The difference between the hardness H1 of the clinch part 58 and the hardness H2 of the insertion body 60, (H1-H2), is 2 or more.
