<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mask for photoalignment and a photoalignment method, capable of expanding a viewing angle. <P>SOLUTION: The mask for phtoaligning including a transmission region, a half-transmission region where a light transmission rate is lower than that in the transmission region, and a shield region where light is not transmitted, in which the transmission rate of the half-transmission region is 25% to 70%, is provided.
